His albums have receved critical acclaim and have sold well into the thousands. He's toured the UK & Ireland twice to sold-out shows in 2004, as well as the West Coast and Southwest United States. He was a guest musician on A Prairie Home Companion in April 2004 and was in the top five on the UK independant charts after his latest album, King Earl, was released in September, 2004 (he previously held the #21 spot on the UK charts after Criminals & Sinners was re-released in 2003).

In addition, Charlie contributed to the soundtrack and co-starred in the independant film, "Who Killed Cock Robin?" directed by Travis Wilkerson. he film screened at the Sundance Film Festival, January 2005 as part of the Dramatic Category Competition and will be shown throughout 2005 on The Sundance Channel. His music was also featured on Paloma, a PBS special in the Summer, 2004, and his music can be heard on radio stations throughout the midwest and Europe.
